Our OAMA staff team is incredible!
They are all knowledgeable, helpful, easy to talk to, and passionate about martial arts. They love what they do and you can tell.
Each week we will showcase one of our instructors on Meet the Team. This will give you a chance to get to know them and find out why they started martial arts and learn their journey.
This week get to know Julia Winterhalder, who teaches our children’s programs.
Watch the full interview here.
Julia started at OAMA as a student at 8 years old. Her friends were students and she noticed their confidence and was interested in trying it out. She loved it!
When she was younger Julia was shy and timid. She says martial arts helped her build confidence, discipline, and organization. And it allowed her to move into a staff role, which grew her confidence even more.
Julia started assisting in classes at age 14 and now teaches the children’s classes and has been involved in summer camps for the past 5 years.
“This has changed who I am! I have seen an evolution and development of who I am as a person. Not only for my own personal development but also for seeing the children and their own development, a new sense of self, and making new connections with like-minded individuals. Martial arts solidifies personal growth”, Julia says.
“As soon as you walk in, all the staff and members, everybody loves each other. Even the kids. It’s a whole community, not something you find in other organizations. It’s a unit. OAMA is a family.”
Our school is goal-oriented. We want to help students achieve their goals in pursuit of excellence. Regardless of your end game; whether it be to improve agility, martial arts skills, confidence, flexibility, or to participate in competitions, we want to help you. Our instructors have walked the path and are eager to help you on yours.
