Sensei Matt “Hammer” Hache had a chance to sit down with Kru Amy Reid and talk to her about her journey with OAMA. Amy didn’t know what to expect when she first came to OAMA and met with Sensei Hammer. She was definitely surprised!
It’s only been 4 years since she started training here and she is the lead instructor for OAMA’s Muay Thai program. She helps students along the journey of Muay Thai, from a shy person who has never trained, to a confident one hitting the pads and competing. Amy has helped teach, lead and grow our students and team of fighters, as well as our team of instructors.
She is passionate about the sport and when you see her in her element you can see why. The impact Amy has on her students, kids and adults alike, is second to none! She often has former students from outside Ottawa come visit her when they are in town.
Don’t let the tattoos fool you! She is known as “The Brick House” in the ring, but has the kindest heart and is always happy to help you in any way she can.
OAMA takes pride in all our instructors. Not only in their capabilities in the ring or on the mat, but more importantly in their desire and passion to lead and help others succeed. We may be tough, but we’re more heart!
