Earlier this month, Professor Eric Nadon and Coach Justin Primrose competed at the Pan American IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Florida.
We are so proud of their performance! They represented Team Renzo Gracie internationally and didn’t shy away from the competition. They demonstrated courage and bravery going up against the best in the sport.
Justin said, “Pan Ams and Worlds have always kind of been my main goal since I started competing…the biggest thing I took away from this experience is that I can hang out with these top guys at brown belt, I just gotta stay focused, train smart, and not get injured lol”. Even when faced with a wardrobe malfunction (pants ripped) during a match, he wasn’t fazed. “Once I got back on the mats and slapped hands with my opponent, I was back focused and ready to go”.
Being martial artists, they continuously challenge themselves, testing their abilities and their comfort.
“This year’s preparation was really challenging with some injuries and health issues but I wouldn’t do anything differently,” Eric said. “Even though I didn’t get the result I wanted, the experience of my first major tournament at black belt was very valuable to me…competition teaches me about myself and brings me humility, win or lose”.
They are both dedicated to their own growth and development; always learning and training, and putting themselves to the test. They truly are the best!
We want to thank Eric and Justin for setting an example of what true BJJ practitioners really are!
We are grateful they are a part of our team and for their leadership. Oss!
