My daughter and I belong to an affiliate club of OAMA. One of the best decision of our lives was joining the club....it has transformed our lives. Being a part of OAMA and WCMA is like being a part of a much larger family...it's our second home. The instructors are amazing; they truly care about your goals. Love it, love it, LOVE it!!

Matt Wilbur

My kids started training at the Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts after meeting Sensei Hache at a Birthday Party. After watching them train for a year I decided to try it myself, although I had not every done a martial art before. Both my kids and I have grown enormously with the help of the teachers and the other students, physically, socially and emotionally.

Pat and Hammer are amazing ambassador's for Martial Arts in Ottawa. OAMA is definitely THE place to learn enthusiastic, high quality Martial Arts in the city. Great school with a great atmosphere.

Rob

The Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts is a pillar of the Ottawa community! For years they have been changing people's lives and supporting the community! You should want your children to experience Professor Matt Hache and his unlimited passion for Martial Arts!

Fantastic academy!!! Professor Pat and Professor Hammer are the best! They run a very professional program with technical instruction and safe training environment. It's been a great pleasure to train and learn from them.

I've been a member here for the past 9 months and cannot say enough good things about OAMA. The instructors are world-class and their dedication to the club is unreal. There's such a great vibe here, the members you roll with become family and you help each other advance and improve. It's such a humbling experience and I highly suggest it for everyone; kids to seniors and everything in between. They offer a free week for anyone that wants to try it out and it's a great way to see how you like it. Everyone is friendly and it makes it so easy to jump in and have fun. If you're considering it, don't think any longer, just stop by!

Alex MacLellan

I've been training here since January and I don't see myself changing schools anytime soon. I'm hooked. The instructors are full time professionals in their disciplines, and they are all very approachable and will make time for students. They always emphasize the students are a team. We are all there to support each other and challenge our training partners to raise their levels! Many of the students compete regularly in regional, national, and international tournaments. The quality of the student body is high. When I attend class I feel like I'm learning from people who are professionals at what they do, which is literally true for some. Everyone who trains and teaches here follows a tone of respect too. I hope to get many years of training here!

Women are taking center stage in martial arts.

Jo Maisonneuve was chosen to be in Vs. Women in Combat Sports – Season 2. It’s a documentary series about amateur female combat sports and martial arts athletes in the Ottawa-Gatineau area.

And Amy Reid was also featured, in Season 1.

We have some amazing women on our team!

They are highlighted alongside other brilliant women who are making a name for themselves in martial arts – BJJ, Muay Thai, MMA, Wrestling, Boxing, Judo, and Tae Kwon Do. All combat sports normally dominated by men. “Ordinary – yet extraordinary – women show they have the stamina, the will, and the fight to succeed while they punish their bodies and reach for gold.” (Vs. The Series)
