I just wanted to drop a line and say that the last 6 months my daughter has spent at OAMA has been very rewarding for Jordahn. Jordahn has grown so much in both her physical and mental abilities, she always comes home and tells us how fun and good her Jujitsu classes were. I remember a while back we were having a hard time with Jordahn not listening and whining and yelling back at us (my daughter is four). I talked to Sensei Nick about this as he asked how things are going, and he must have noticed that I was looking tired and frustrated, I told him what was going on, and Nicks approach to this was so amazing it literally brought tears in my eyes when Jordahn talked to me about the talk her and sensei Nick had in class that day. She said he let her be a black belt for the class, and explained to her all the things that come with this belt, respect to others, honesty, courage, etc… I’m not saying he solved our problems, but things did get better.
Jordahn trains at OAMA 3-4 times a week depending on if we can get her there or not. Her Sensei is Sensei Roshan, and she is so good with the Tiny Tigers, I know Jordahn always looks up to her.
I know that since the first day my daughter joined OAMA we have all felt like a part of the OAMA family.

About 3 years ago I enrolled my 7 year old son Dylan, in the kids jiu jitsu program based on a friend’s recommendation for the children’s program. Within a few months of seeing his progress and the obvious enjoyment he was experiencing, my 10 year old daughter Amy was adamant that she too wanted to join. As we were there 4-5 times a week, and we were so keen to see her learn some self defence, it was a great fit for us.
Life is very busy for the Littles, and although I wanted very much to join the BJJ and Muay Thai, I didn’t see how I would be able to achieve any consistency to make it worthwhile. After the first year I calculated that I had attended around half of my children’s classes, and reasoned that that would be enough (thanks in part to regular encouragement from Nick for sure) to satisfy my enthusiasm.
Within 7 months I added the Muay Thai program to my membership, and this year my wife joined Muay Thai. Our entire family now trains at OAMA, and needless to say, we love every minute of it.
What we have found at OAMA is a common bond and shared experience for our family. In fact, OAMA is such a large part of our lives you guys are like family! We plan to be a part of yours for some time to come.
A lot of words when what I really want to do is simply say thanks to Pat, Matt, Sammy, Nick, Peter, Mark, Jeff, Harley…everyone at OAMA who play such a large part in my family’s life. Of course, a nod to our fellow students as well, who make every class a positive experience!
Thanks guys…
Darren, Cindy, Amy and Dylan Little
